If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’ve spent a lot of time fighting against your own body. I know that feeling well. For a long time, I treated my energy like a credit card: I kept spending what I didn't have, hoping the bill wouldn't come due. But with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and other chronic conditions, the bill always comes.
With our "Working With Your Energy, Not Against It" workshop coming up this Tuesday, I’ve been thinking a lot about what comes after that first lightbulb moment. How do we take those initial shifts and turn them into a sustainable way of living?
That’s why I’m so excited to share the outline for my new 6-Week Energy Harmony Program (also known as Energy Mastery for FND). This isn't a high-performance boot camp. It’s a gentle, week-by-week journey designed for every body and mind to help you find a rhythm that actually feels like you.
Why a 6-Week Approach?
Sustainable change doesn't happen in a single afternoon. Our nervous systems need time to learn that they are safe and that we aren't going to "push and crash" anymore. This curriculum combines pacing, scripts, and micro-regulation into a manageable flow.
Whether you are an individual looking for a path forward or part of our FND Friends community, this outline is designed to be your roadmap.
Week 1: Understanding Your Baseline

Before we can manage our energy, we have to know what we're actually working with. In Week 1, we focus on The Baseline. This isn't about what you wish you could do; it's about what you can do consistently without triggering a flare.
- The Goal: Moving from "guessing" to "knowing."
- What we’ll cover:
- Identifying your "tipping point."
- Gentle tracking (without the judgment).
- Learning to spot the "Yellow Zone" symptoms before they turn "Red."
- Reflective Practice: What did I need more of today? Just noticing is enough.
Week 2: Pacing & Spoon Theory
Now that we have a baseline, we look at the "currency" of energy. Most of us have heard of Spoon Theory, but in Week 2, we put it into practical, daily action.
- The Goal: Living "under budget" to create a safety net for your nervous system.
- What we’ll cover:
- Mapping where your "spoons" go (it's often the mental and emotional stuff we forget to count!).
- The 50% Rule: Aiming for half of what you think you can do.
- Why strategic rest will change the way you build habits.
Week 3: Communication & Scripts

Energy management is rarely a solo sport. We live in a world that expects 100% all the time. In Week 3, we build your toolkit of "Energy Scripts": the actual words you can use to protect your space.
- The Goal: Setting boundaries with kindness and confidence.
- What we’ll cover:
- Scripts for friends and family ("I’d love to see you, but I’m in a low-spoon day. Can we do a low-stimulus hang instead?").
- Advocating for yourself in professional settings.
- Letting go of the "explanation tax" (you don't always owe people a medical history).
Week 4: Micro-Resets

Waiting until you are exhausted to rest is like waiting until your car is out of fuel to look for a petrol station. Week 4 is all about the "Micro-Reset": 1 to 3-minute interventions that keep your nervous system steady throughout the day.
- The Goal: Integrating gentle micro-habit hacks into your existing routine.
- What we’ll cover:
- Sensory grounding (The 5-4-3-2-1 method).
- Vagus nerve "snacks" (gentle hums, soft movements).
- Building a "Micro-Reset Menu" that you can use even when cognitive fog is high.
Week 5: Nervous System Regulation
In Week 5, we go a bit deeper into why our bodies react the way they do. We explore the "Window of Tolerance" and how FND often keeps us on the edges of that window.
- The Goal: Teaching your body it is safe to rest.
- What we’ll cover:
- Understanding the "freeze" and "fawn" responses in chronic illness.
- Softening the inner critic.
- Gentle tools for navigating your recovery journey.
Week 6: Sustainable Systems

The final week is about the "Long Game." We take everything we’ve learned and thread it into a system that works for your life, your home, and your business.
- The Goal: Creating a "Flare-Up Protocol" and a long-term rhythm.
- What we’ll cover:
- Automating what you can (letting tech save your spoons).
- Batching tasks based on energy, not days of the week.
- Creating a "Safe Haven" environment at home.
Join Us on the Journey
I’m feeling so confident that this 6-week program will be a hit because it’s born from the real, lived experience of navigating FND and chronic illness every single day. I'm not here as an "expert" on high-performance; I'm here as a peer who has learned how to find harmony in the fluctuations.
If you’re attending the workshop this Tuesday, you’ll get a sneak peek at some of these tools! If you aren't able to make it, don't worry: I'll be adding more resources to my Stan Store very soon.
You are doing your best, and that is always enough. Let's find your harmony together.
